Area 3 Royal Arch Masons mark the 150th anniversary of the Provincial Grand Chapter of Cheshire with a massive charity donation.

At a special celebration meeting at Altrincham Masonic Hall on Tuesday 16th April 2019, the new Area 3 Royal Arch Demonstration Team carried out a double exaltation. The exaltees, Bro Stephen Lacy Jones and Bro Tobias Thomas Bannon, both members of Affinity Lodge No. 4872 were exalted into Stamford Chapter No 1045 who hosted the evening. The special demonstration team which was formed just for this event included Companions from every Chapter in Area 3 and were proud to be honoured by the presence of the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent, Stephen Martin Blank who was making his first visit to Stamford Chapter.

The Chapter room was full as the Provincial delegation and the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent were escorted in and welcomed by the Acting MEZ of Stamford Chapter, EComp Howard Kings. After the double exaltation there were a number of presentations of cheques made by the Area 3 Chapters and Affinity Lodge following their recent curry night. Following on from the wonderful ceremony, the social board started with

In honouring the first toast after dinner, ‘The Queen and Royal Arch Freemasonry’, new Companion Tobias Thomas Bannon one of the evenings exaltees played the National Anthem on his trombone to the delight of all present.
The main raffle of the evening was for a week’s holiday in a luxury villa at Juan Les Pins on the Cote D’Azur. Tickets for this fabulous prize had been offered for sale at all the Area 3 Chapters in the previous months and the lucky winner drawn on the night was EComp Stephen Teare. The raffle raised the magnificent sum of £1325.00.

Another highlight of the Social Board was a lesson in “Chapter Fire” and the explanation of the art of Chapter Fire by the Dep GSupt, EComp Rob Bramley. As expected this left the exaltees more than a little bewildered and the advice given of ‘don’t watch the companion stood opposite you’ will ring in their ears at their next meeting on May 20th!

Baffled by Chapter Fire!

Cheers Companions!
