Cheshire is the oldest Province in the English Constitution. The first recorded Provincial Grand Lodge meeting of Cheshire was then held on the 27th November 1725. Thus began the formal history of Freemasonry in Cheshire.
The following pages chronicle the history of the Province and its Provincial Grand Masters. The research and text has been done by WBro John Brittleton M.Litt. (St. Andrews) LGR and was originally published in the 2013-2014 et seq Cheshire Masonic Year Books.
