On Monday 20th November 2017, the WM & Brethren of Parkgate Lodge No. 7263 were proud and delighted to host the celebration of WBro Sam’s 60yrs in Freemasonry at Neston Masonic Hall.
The evening was a great success and was enhanced by the presence of the Deputy Provincial Grand Master VWBro Alan Glazier, the Area One Asst. Provincial Grand Master WBro Paul Anthony Massie, a number of Grand Officers including the past Deputy Provincial Grand Master VWBro Thomas Ian Cranston and numerous visiting Brethren resulting in more than 70 Masons being present.
Following a brief meeting, the Lodge was closed and WBro Sam was escorted into the Temple by his sons Alan & Robert, his Grandson Ian and Sam’s two Carer’s Margaret & Brenda.
WBro Paul Massie gave a comprehensive resume’ of WBro Sam’s personal life and extensive Masonic career and VWBro Alan Glazier gave a moving address, highlighting their personal friendship of over 40yrs together, extoling Sam’s dedication and willingness to always go that extra mile to help those in need. VWBro Alan also presented Sam with his 60th Anniversary certificate from the Province of Cheshire, which was signed by the RW Provincial Grand Master, Stephen Martin Blank.
An excellent Festive Board included a toast to Sam by his friend of over 30yrs WBro Steve Williams who spoke movingly of the support Sam had always given him and the members of both Parkgate Lodge & Evening Star Chapter.
It was a pleasure for Parkgate Lodge to host Sam, his family & Carers together with the visiting Brethren of all ranks from across the Province – a true reflection of the high esteem in which Sam is held by all.
Congratulations Sam and here’s to your 70th.
