Combermere Lodge 605 Brethren ‘Sleep-Out’ for Charles Thompson’s Mission

In the run-up to Christmas, several members of Area 1’s Combermere Lodge 605 and their wives/partners were amongst more than 100 people who gave up the warmth and comforts of their own beds to ‘sleep-out’ in a Car Park in Birkenhead Town Centre on a wet & cold night in order to raise funds and awareness for the Charles Thompson’s Mission which helps the homeless in Birkenhead.

The event was an outstanding success with just over £26,226.00 being raised.  WBro Geoff Jones (Secretary of Combermere 605) said; “we were pleased to be involved in Sleep-Out 2018 as we were able to gain a great understanding of the valuable work the Mission does.  We were able to speak to a number of homeless people and listen to their stories.  The whole event was humbling and I’m please we were able to be involved and help raise such a wonderful sum”

This was a great effort by all the Brethren and their loved ones in helping to raise a fantastic amount and show how much Freemasons do within our local communities.
