Members and guests of Samaritan Lodge No 368 would be forgiven if they were seeing double on Wednesday 23 March when John and Peter Manning celebrated their 60th Anniversary in Freemasonry. Born within five minutes of each other, the twins have followed each other through life; first at St. Clair’s School, then Sandbach Grammar, they started work together at Nash Kelvinators and even served together during World War ll with REME.
WBro George Mann APGM presented them both with a special certificate from the Provincial Grand Master to commemorate their Diamond Anniversary, thanking them for their support over sixty years and wishing them well as they climb towards their next milestone. The evening was further marked with an word perfect Initiation ceremony to welcome Bro Peter O’Donnell to their Lodge following which George Mann APGM explained and presented a Grand Lodge certificate to their recently raised Master Mason Bro Richard Beckett.
Such an evening of celebration deserves a gala banquet; members and guests were not disappointed to enjoy a sumptuous seven course meal prepared by their own special Sandbach chef.
