Cheshire’s Clay Pigeon Shooting Team Travel North

The newly formed Cheshire Provincial Clay Pigeon Shooting Team travelled to Carnforth on Saturday 11th May to take part in the Provincial Shoot, at the invitation of the Province of West Lancashire. Six members from Cheshire travelled north along with Richard Winward; Dave Atkinson & Roger Bowden – St Oswald’s Lodge No.2992, Keith Clarke & Gavin Hamilton – Dane Lodge No.7640, David Meacher-Jones – Cestrian Lodge No.425 & Neil Wagstaff – John Brunner Lodge No.2799. Held at Crabtree Farm, Lupton, the Cheshire Team were joined by teams from the Barrow Group, the neighbouring Provinces of Yorkshire – West Riding and Cumberland & Westmorland for the 50 bird Sporting competition with prizes for High Gun, Veterans, Novice, Most Improved and Guest Trophy.

The competition was a good introduction for Cheshire’s new team and the outlook is promising as three of the team were up with the leaders.
