On Tuesday 15th May at Dukinfield Masonic Hall, Endeavour & Astley Union Lodge No 830, celebrated Christmas, showing that Area 4 doesn’t always do things the conventional way
The RWProvGM Stephen Martin Blank was in attendance accompanied by APGMs WBros Simon Palfreyman, Paul Massie and Simon Richardson, Grand and Provincial Officers, along with many visiting brethren.
The theme of the evening was Christmas giving, and cheques totalling £1000 were presented to the PGM from the host lodge and other lodges present.
At the festive board a full traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings was served, Christmas music played and the brethren were entertained by, and invited to partake by The Milltown Cloggies, who regularly perform at our Christmas meeting.
The lodge has Christmas in May, due to the Installion Ceremony being held in the third week in December, leaving very little time to celebrate, with the May meeting many years ago being the only month available to hold our Christmas party, so May it was. This absurd tradition has proved very popular and is now permanent lodge tradition.
The lodge looks forward to welcoming even more guests to its next Christmas Party in May 2019, which will be a white table event to which wives, partners, friends and neighbours will also be invited.
Trusting that you all had a Merry Christmas, and a continued healthy and prosperous 2018.
The Worshipful Master and Brethren of Endeavour and Astley Union Lodge No 830
