On Monday 25th September at Clay Lane Masonic Hall in Altrincham, the Chapter celebrated 150 years of Royal Arch Masonry.
After E Comp John Williams opened the Chapter, the Deputy Grand Superintendent, E Comp John Robert Bramley PGSwdB was for the second time proffered the sceptre and to John’s relief, accepted it.
The Deputy Grand Superintendent asked if the 2nd and 3rd Provincial Grand Principals could also occupy the chairs of Haggai and Joshua. Which they duly did.
The Deputy Grand Superintendent welcomed the Distinguished Guests and proceeded to give his Address to the Companions describing the life and times that the Chapter has seen over the last 150 years.
He thanked E Comp Eric A Harlin PPrAGSoj for the excellent work he had undertaken in producing the 150th Anniversary Booklet and requested him to give his short presentation.

The 2nd Provincial Grand Principal, E Comp Philip E Rowland PGStB, read the 150th Anniversary certificate and the Deputy Grand Superintendent then presented the Certificate to the Most Excellent.
At this point, the Deputy Grand Superintendent took the opportunity of promoting E Comp Eric A Harlin PPrAGSoj to the rank of PPrDepGSwdB.
The Deputy Grand Superintendent then handed back the sceptre to E Comp John Williams, who in turn presented the following cheques: –
- Cheshire Freemasons’ Charity £1045
- Forget Me Not Trust £250.
