On Saturday 22nd September 2018 WBro Keith Howbrigg, (Area 3 Charity Steward), presented a cheque to the Stockies Juniors – Children’s Club, part of Stockdales in Sale from the Cheshire Freemasons Charity (CFC).
This was an additional grant for £1899.69 to enable the purchase of indoor and outdoor play equipment.
Stockies Juniors is a club for children (5 – 11 years) with special needs, designed to give them the same experiences as other children. They can make new friends, get loud with music, creative with craft, dizzy with dance, busy with drama and much more.
It enables time away from parents and carers in an exciting and supportive space doing the sorts of things that kids love; messy play and having loads of fun.
The club runs two sessions, one on Saturday mornings, 10.00am until 12.00 and afternoons, 1.00pm until 3.00pm (it is looking to expand and offer support to teenagers sometime in the future as well).
The children are mainly on the autistic spectrum and spend two hours in the session with qualified professional helpers looking after them. The children benefit from interaction with other adults other than their carers along with children with similar conditions.
The more far reaching benefit is to carers and siblings and other family members as the club provides respite and the chance to have time with each other in a more relaxed environment.
The following press release will be appearing in the local papers in Sale: –
