One of the oldest members of Clarendon Lodge to date is Worshipful Brother Albert Evans PPGJW who was 100 years old on 4th October 1914, he joined Clarendon Lodge No. 1166 on 28th May 1959, and was installed as Worshipful Master on 27TH January 1972 ,
He has served Clarendon Lodge with distinction and is now an Honorary member of the Lodge
Albert served in the Second World War in the Tank Corp as a mechanic, he was presented with the Military Medal after six months service in Tunisia North Africa, under constant enemy air and artillery bombardment he carried out vital repairs to four tanks prior to bringing them back across enemy lines.
The Worshipful Master W.Bro Graham Maxted Monaghan PPGJW attended Trafford General Hospital Greater Manchester where Albert is being cared for, accompanied by W.Bro Sushil Rawal PPJGD to present a certificate awarded by the RWPGM to celebrate his 100th Birthday.
His wife Gurty was presented with flowers by the WM who celebrates her 100th birthday in December 2014, and they were accompanied by members of the family and their grand children.
The Nurses from the Ward presented him with a cake and sang happy birthday, relief by Albert was that there were no candles.
