On Monday the 19th February 2018, the University Lodge of Chester welcomed the Assistant Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother Sir David Hugh Wootton together with our Provincial Grand Master, our Deputy Provincial Grand Master and all the Assistant Provincial Grand Masters of Cheshire to witness the Initiation of Seven new Members into the Lodge.
With over 100 Masons in attendance, including the majority of the Acting Officers of the year, it was a night to remember for the Candidates, for the Lodge Members and all the visiting Brethren.
The Worshipful Master, Worshipful Brother Professor Andrew M. Thomas, PProvJGD, assisted by the Officers of the Lodge, led of course by the Lodge Director of Ceremonies, Worshipful Brother Nigel Curry, PProvAGDC, and assisted by five additional Deacon’s, conducted the Ceremony in an excellent manner.
The Festive Board was, as usual at Christleton, excellent, with plenty of conversation around the tables.
To ensure that the Assistant Grand Master remembered his time in Cheshire the Provincial Grand Master presented him with a bottle of best scotch, and the Lodge presented a bottle of Cheshire Gin.
