Tercentenary Celebration Evening – Runcorn

On Friday 28th April Runcorn Masonic Hall hosted a celebration meal to mark the Tercentenary of United Grand Lodge.

The event was a success, and enjoyed by all of the 60 or so Freemasons, their Wives, Partners, Friends and family who attended. An excellent 4 course meal was enjoyed by all along with the obligatory glass of wine.

All 4 Lodges from the Runcorn Hall were well represented as well as a number of welcome Guests from the nearby Frodsham Lodges.

The event included a Raffle, which raised a magnificent £330.00 for Ella Performance Group, who teach performing arts to less able children and young people in the Runcorn area.

Ben Ravenscroft (youngest member of Runcorn Lodge), Arthur Clare (oldest member of the Hall at 91yrs young), John Miller (Area 2 Chairman), Gary Horstman (APGM Area 2), Graham Clayton (event organiser), George Hughes (celebrating his 80th birthday on the night) and Matthew Oates (youngest member of Ellesmere Lodge).

Everyone who attended took home a Special Limited Edition Tercentenary Glass, which were kindly donated by Antony Ravenscroft from Runcorn Lodge, but of course the surprise of the evening was the excellent accordion playing of W.Bro Tony Stringer, who also gave a very interesting talk on the mysteries of time travel.
