Prostate Cancer is no respecter of age although GPs don’t offer the service routinely to under 50’s.

What effects your risk?

  • Age – The older you are, the greater the risk
  • Family History – If a close relative had prostate cancer, particularly at a young age, then the risk may be higher.
  • Breast Cancer in the Family – A strong family history of Breast Cancer may increase you risk of prostate cancer, particularly if you have a close relative diagnosed under the age of 60.
  • African Ancestry – Prostate Cancer is more common in black men that white or Asian men.

Prostate Cancer is the most common cancers in UK men and the easiest to treat if discovered at an early stage. This is the first step – take it.
