Charing Cross Lodge welcomes its Newest Initiate

On Thursday 1st March, Charing Cross Lodge No: 4913, welcomed visitors from far and wide, who had braved the weather conditions to witness what was an excellent ‘Initiation’ Ceremony.  Performed by the Master and his Officers, Bro Luke Leyland was greeted as their newest member, in the Presence of WBro Gary Horstman (APGM), who was accompanied by no less than three Grand Lodge officers, as well as Acting Provincial Officers, and Area Officers, including the Chairmen for Areas 1 and 2.

During the Festive board, WBro David Eshelby presented the Poem ‘On my Initiation’ to the candidate, which was well received by all.

The Worshipful Master, WBro, Chris Fairfield managed to ‘surprise’ our Assistant Provincial Grand Master, by presenting him with his winnings from the latest ‘Spot the Maul’ draw, as he had won £10, the third prize in that third draw.

In his reply the WBro Gary congratulated Bro. Luke, on joining the Charing Cross Lodge, and Congratulated the Lodge on such a well performed Ceremony, adding that this was the third Initiation that he had been to, in our Area that week, which is indicative of the welcome upward membership trend being witnessed across the Province.
