The ‘Spot the Maul’ draw is proving to be quite the success in Area 2, since its launch last month, having been drawn twice already, raising much needed funds, both in support of Local Charitable Causes, but also the Hall upkeep, and a little towards Area expenses.
The first draw, which was made at the Area 2 Master’s/First Principal’s Dinner, saw the DPGM pick out Jeff Cunningham’s number (Manor Lodge and Area 1 Chairman), as the very first recipient of the £100.00 First Prize, and Henry Bull (Birkenhead Chapter – pictured), who won the First Draw Second Prize of £20.00. and the Third Prize of £10.00 going to Alf Bibby (James Thompson lodge – not pictured).
Having sold a further full sheet at that event, the Second Draw took place at Minerva Lodge where the PGM was pleased to confirm Colin Foster (Good Companions Lodge – pictured), who won the £100.00 First Prize, Paul Allan (Lodge of Dunblane- not pictured) winning the Second Prize of £20.00, and Mr Mark Rowlands (not pictured) winning the Third Prize.
Pictured presenting the prizes to Jeff Cunningham, Colin Foster, and Henry Bull is Area 2 Chairman John Miller, who admittedly struggled to actually let go of the Cheque to his fellow Chairman .
So far the draw has given out £260.00 in prize money and has raised £180 for the causes stated, and is proving to be quite a successful ‘Fund Raising Tool’ with entries for each draw only costing £1.00 per go.
