Breast Cancer Now is the UK’s largest breast cancer research charity – and are dedicated to funding research into this devastating disease.
Netherpool Lodge 7416 have done a fantastic job of raising £1,250 to support this very worthwhile cause. Elizabeth Morgan attended to receive the cheque on behalf of Brest Cancer Now, as did WM Bob Pooley, W Bro Ken McGimpsey and his son Jason, to whom the charity has personal meaning and is actively generating donations through many sponsorship events, including the Prudential London cycle event and a skydive.
Assistant Provincial Grand Master, Adrian Davies, also attended Ellesmere Port Masonic Hall to donate the cheque on behalf of Netherpool Lodge. Adrian Davies commented: “Charitable giving is a fundamental principal of Freemasonry and Ellesmere Port and Cheshire Freemasons are pleased to support such a wonderful charity as Breast Cancer Now. Survival rates from Breast Cancer are starting to improve, thanks to research funding, bringing relief to many of the families who are affected by this disease . The effort that has been expended to raise this substantial donation, in association with Netherpool Lodge, is commendable and serves in some small way to meet Freemasons’ social responsibility as members of the community”.
