The Area One Executive Committee have been very pleased & proud to be able to arrange with the Wallasey Masonic Hall Management team for a suitably inscribed plaque to be fitted in the Bar Area at the Hall to the memory of WBro Robert ‘Bob’ Eaves, PProvGSwdB.
‘Bob’ was probably one of the most active Freemasons in recent times. In addition to being a member of several Lodges, Chapters & Orders, he was also ‘Tyler’ &/or ‘Janitor’ to numerous others and could always be relied upon to step in at short notice whenever the need arose (which was basically most night’s for Bob).
On a rare evening off, or once his duties were done, he could always be found in his chair in the bar where he’d pass many a happy hour chatting to Masons old & new. What is probably not so well known is that Bob came into Freemasonry quite late on in life; he was initiated into Broadsmith Lodge 3593 on Thursday 26th March 1987 and went through the Chair twice in 1995/96 & again in 2005/06.
Bob was called to ‘higher orders’ in the Grand Lodge Above on Friday 10th February 2017. His passing left a big hole in lots of Cheshire Mason’s lives and the plaque is a fitting memorial to a kind & true Brother. RIP Bob.
